Monastery of Maad

About this site

The Monastery of Maad is a Maronite monastery in the village of Maad, in the Jbeil District of Mount Lebanon. Named for its village rather than a patron saint, it remains a place of prayer and monastic life for the local Maronite community. Maad sits in the hills above Byblos, one of the oldest continuously inhabited cities in the world.
