Saint John Monastery is a Melkite Greek Catholic monastery in Khenchara, motherhouse of the Basilian Chouerite Order. Dedicated to Saint John the Baptist, the forerunner who baptized Christ in the Jordan River. Khenchara is a stone-built mountain village in the Metn highlands, known for its springs and terraced streets.
