Monastery of Saint Anthony of Padua sits on the Khashbao hill above Ghazir, headquarters of the Lebanese Maronite Order. Built in 1752, its church added in 1820, it was long the retreat of Blessed Father Jacques of Ghazir, beatified in 2008. Chnaneir overlooks the Bay of Jounieh, the monastery's arched courtyard restored in 1985 after decades of use by Armenian and later Capuchin monks.
