Born Yusuf Kassab in Hardin, North Lebanon, he entered the Lebanese Maronite Order, took the name Nimatullah, and served as novice master and spiritual director, forming a generation of monks including Saint Charbel. He is remembered for his humility and unwavering devotion to Christ and Mary.
