Our Lady of Miziara, Mother of Mercies (Saydet el Marahem), is a Marian shrine built in 1979 by Marcel Chaghoury, a native of the village, and consecrated by Bishop Antoine Jbeir on September 6, 1992. A statue of the Virgin stands at the shrine's entrance, flanked by two limestone-carved angels, alongside sculpted scenes of Christ's Baptism, the Wedding at Cana, and the Last Supper. Miziara itself sits on a hilltop 800 meters above sea level, first settled in the late 17th century by the Nehme family from Jebbet Bsharri, with views stretching over Zgharta, Tripoli, and the Mediterranean. The shrine remains a major pilgrimage destination, drawing worshippers seeking the Virgin's intercession amid one of Lebanon's densest clusters of churches.
